Bryan Cranston, the star of the hit television series "Breaking Bad", has announced that he will be writing a memoir about his life, the New York Times reported.
But aside from giving the readers a glimpse of the real Cranston, the actor also promised to dish out details on the crime drama about a high school chemistry teacher who transformed into a drug dealer. In his memoir, Cranston said he will "tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shooting 'Breaking Bad.'"
Based on his statement, Cranston will be writing about his experience playing his infamous on-screen character, according to Vanity Fair. He said, "Walter White taught me a lot - some of it useful, some of it dangerous."
His memoir will be published by Scribner, a division of Simon and Schuster. It is scheduled to hit bookstores in fall of 2015.
Nan Graham, publisher of Scribner, said that Cranston's writing style closely reflects his approach on acting. He commented that the 58-year-old actor "writes the way he acts - with fierce commitment, intelligence and humor."
Before bringing Walter White's character to life, Cranston was first known as Hal Wilkerson, the patriarch of a dysfunctional family featured on Fox's television sitcom, "Malcolm in the Middle," which starred Frankie Muniz.
Cranston's latest film role will be in the 2014 "Godzilla" film. He will be playing Joe Brody, a scientist who had previously worked on projects involving the giant beasts.
It was revealed last year by the Hollywood Reporter that he and Rebel Wilson will be joining Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, and the rest of the core "Kung Fu Panda" cast members for the film's third installment. Cranston will provide the voice for Po's biological father. "Kung Fu Panda 3" is set for release on Dec. 23, 2015.
