The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department reports that the guesthouse of 21-year-old singer/ actress Selena Gomez in Calabasas has been broken into Sunday.

Authorities have arrested the suspect, 20-year-old transient Cruz Che, who is currently being held Monday on $50,000 bail, reports CTV News.

According to ABC, Sgt. Fray Lupian says Gomez arrived at her Calabasas home at about 9:30 p.m. with friends on Sunday and called the police when she heard a noise. Sheriff's deputies arrived at 5100 block of Garrett Court where private security personnel had detained the suspect.

The suspect allegedly knocked on the door looking for Gomez and friends refused him access. The suspect was then reported to have forced his way into a guesthouse.

According to ABC, Selena has had prior incidents with overzealous fans, the most recent was in January when a 19-year-old was arrested for trespassing in Gomez' home. After which, Selena also dealt with threats on her life and in April of 2011 was granted a three-year restraining order against a man who threatened to kill her.

Selena Gomez rose to fame as the star of Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place." She then turned to music and was most recently named favorite female singer during Saturday night's "Kid's Choice Awards."

In September 2009, Selena Gomez was named a UNICEF Celebrity Ambassador, becoming the youngest UNICEF Ambassador in the United States. Using her worldwide fame as a platform, Gomez utilizes her social media network to encourage friends, family and her fans to donate and support UNICEF's initiatives to contribute to making a difference in children's lives.
