'Dota 2' The International Tournament 2014 Dates, Ticket Prices & Locations Announced

Videogame distributor giant Valve recently announced the details of the fourth and upcoming The International tournament for "Dota 2" players.

IGN reported that this year's annual championship event will be held at the KeyArena in Seattle and will take place from July 18 to 21 of this year. Those planning on watching the tournament live can purchase their tickets starting at 3pm PDT this coming Friday, April 4, through Ticketmaster.

Here are the time zones of when the tickets can be purchased in different countries posted by Valve on the Dota 2 blog:

-       Seattle: 15:00 Friday

-       Brasilia: 19:00 Friday

-       London: 23:00 Friday

-       Moscow: 02:00 Saturday

-       Beijing: 06:00 Saturday

-       Singapore 06:00 Saturday

-       Seoul: 07:00 Saturday

-       Sydney: 09:00 Saturday

Three types of tickets are available for the event: General Admission for $99.00, Floor Seats for $199.00, and the VIP package for $499.00.

According to the blog, the VIP package includes:

-       Access to all 6 days of Playoffs (formerly Group Stage) taking plane on July 8^th, before the Championships Event

-       Floor Seating

-       Exclusive VIP Meets and Greets

-       Access to the After Party

All of the tickets will include the four-day access to the Championships Event.

For the International 2014, 11 teams from different parts of the world will be invited directly to compete in four regional qualifier events which will be held from May 12 to 25. The four winners of the qualifiers will then be invited again to compete in Seattle for the championship title.

Last year's The International was held at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The organizers decided to move the venue due to KeyArena's larger capacity.  Team Alliance from Sweden took home the grand prize money of $1,437,190.00 during the International 2013. Ukraine's Natus Vincere took second place along with a prize money of $632,364.00 while Orange Esports of Malaysia bagged third place and went home with $287,438.
