Ariana Grande Nude Photos Leaked? Nope. April Fools

Ariana Grande has just become the latest celebrity to get victimized by the leaked-nude-photos scandal. The pop star's supposed nude photos began trending on Twitter on Monday, March 31, as the hashtag #ArianasNudesLeaked sparked public attention, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.

Fortunately, according to Twitter users and followers of Ariana, the hashtag and the photos were all part of their not-so elaborate April Fools' Day prank on their idol. One user blatantly posted, "We should trend #arianasnudesleaked for april fools instead of that dead album leaked sh** we do every year."

A user even started asking other people to re-tweet a modified photo of Ariana so the prank would spread "faster than fire" and make others believe that the nude photos are real.

But this isn't the first time nude photos of the pop star surfaced online. Although the photos from 2013 were clearly fake and have been photoshopped, they still managed to garner a massive amount of attention and briefly affect the public image of the young singer.

As for the prank, many entertainment sites were not amused as it lacked originality, and the timing was off, since it was executed a day before April first, according to Hollywood Life. More importantly, it makes fun of a heavy situation, one that Ariana's friend and "Sam & Cat" co-star Jennette McCurdy recently went through earlier this month.

But unlike the prank on the singer, McCurdy's photos were real. The racy images which surfaced on Twitter showed the former "iCarly" star in her lingerie.

Entertainmentwise reported that the actress immediately admitted that the photos were real but she was not the one who leaked them. She posted on Twitter, "To anyone disappointed: I sent those pics to 1 person. You can connect the dots. Shocked someone would stoop so low. I just speak w/ candor."
