An impressive video filmed from a cellphone captured the moment in which a construction worker is rescued from a building on fire in Houston, Texas.

The incident took place on Tuesday when a huge fire was reported at an apartment building under construction in Houston. The dramatic video, which has gone viral a few hours after being found by the media and uploaded to social networks, shows how a construction worker is trapped in a balcony on the top floor as flames surround him.

According to Today News, the scene was filmed with Karen Jones' cellphone, one of the people watching the scene from the street.

"I was very scared. We were all close to the windows. People were scared and asking 'Oh God, what is this man going to do? Are they going to be able to reach him?'", Jones told the newspaper on Wednesday.

Despite the dramatic situation, the man who was trapped remained calm even as strong winds made the flames grow until they almost reached him.

In a key moment, the worker, whose name has not been revealed to the media, jumped from the balcony he's in to another in a lower floor, in a desperate attempt to get away from the flames.

Finally, a ladder from the Houston fire department manages to rescue the man, moments before one of the walls on the building collapsed behind him.

According to Mirror News, it took a little over two hours and a half for the firemen to contain the fire in the apartment building valued at $50 million dollars, and despite how big it was, no one was injured.
