Pharrell Williams has so much star power, he can make a hat famous. The Vivienne Westwood fedora, which the rapper/ producer wore at the Grammy Awards in January and became a trending topic on Twitter, has sold for an impressive purse.

After wearing the famous hat at the music event, Pharrell put the hat up for auction on eBay two weeks ago, with the hopes that the proceeds of which will support his charity, From One Hand to Another.

Now report say fast-food chain, Arby's, bought the hat for $44,100, mainly because the fedora (which has its own Twitter account, by the way, @PharrellsHat) had a striking resemblance to the one in the fast-food chain's logo.

During the Grammy's last January, Arby's even tweeted to Williams, asking, "Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs."

According to adweek.com, "for Arby's, the buzzy branding move was like shooting fish in a barrel."

In a tweet last Sunday about the purchase, Arby's even referred to William's song, telling him, "We're HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back."

The missing hat caused a stir at the Academy Awards, with Twitter users noting its absence. However, Williams' red carpet look caused quite a stir on social media as well, for the tuxedo shorts he wore. Funny enough, the shorts now has its own Twitter account as well, @PharellsShorts.

For the performance of his Oscar-nominated song, "Happy", USA Today noted that Williams wore a similar hat to his famous "mountain" fedora, and at one point danced off-stage, with some A-List celebrities that included Lupita Ngyong'o, Meryl Streep, and Amy Adams.

Fortunately for the hat's fans, the infamous Vivienne Westwood piece did make an appearance during the Oscars, when host Ellen DeGeneres used it to collect money from celebrities like Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey, for the pizza she ordered in the middle of the show.
