Manchester United's 2-0 loss against Olympiacos has undoubtedly restarted a conversation that has been going on for months. Should David Moyes be allowed to remain as Manchester United's manager? The question is a rather tricky one. If the team fires the manager, who is his replacement? Who is actually better than him at this point in the season? More importantly, can this really be pinned on just Moyes or should the players also be questioned? Afterall this is virtually the same team that won the Premier League last season. How could one man's system suddenly make an entire squad of 23 men completely inept?

The year is a lost one for Moyes and a lot of the blame must be placed on his shoulders. Here are a few reasons why Moyes deserves to be fired.

Poor Transfers

Manchester United is one of the richest sides in the world and Moyes' use of money in the transfer window thus far has been appalling. Granted he seems to get no respect around the world as bids for Ander Herrera, Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas over the summer were fruitless. His attempt to get Leighton Baines and Marounane Fellaini from Everton for a low price was turned into an embarrassing story for him. And of course his inability to get anyone else but Fellaini-at the last minute, no less-is simply embarrassing. And the fact that Fellaini has been a bust does not help matters.

One might forgive him for the poor summer. Afterall he was handed a team that had just won the Premier League and should still be potent. But after the poor performances throughout the first half of the year, one would expect Moyes to go out and fix the roster in January. The defense was in shambles and the midfield was in need of some of the stability that Ryan Giggs manages to give once in a while. Moyes went out and got Juan Mata, a player who though admittedly talented was not the solution to all of United's troubles. The defense remains an eye sore and Mata has not excelled as much as the team has expected.

Poor Roster Management

The old cliché goes that "if it is ain't broken, don't fix it." However, the inverse of that is that if something is broken, then fix it right away. Which begs the question-why does Moyes continue to go back to the same lineups and strategies time and again? With such a talented roster, why is he letting Shinji Kagawa waste away? The Japanese midfielder has played a total of 18 games for Manchester United on the year; he has played on nine games in the Premier League and has often been utilized on the wing; he is much better in the middle. Kagawa has stated that he might be looking to leave due to his lack of play time.

Why hasn't Nani gotten more time? The Portuguese player has admittedly failed during his tenure at Manchester United, but maybe giving him more playing time will build his confidence and potentially get him back on track. At 27, one would still expect him to continue progressing and improving. But with only eight Premier League matches and just one Premier League match, this is definitely not going to happen. There are better options on the pitch, but they are not creating a winning combination. Why not let other players show what they have?

Javier Hernandez is not Wayne Rooney or Robin Van Persie and the other two are undoubtedly producing as expected, when healthy of course. But the fact that Chicharito has only played in 16 matches-and only started four-is problematic. Moyes should be trying new strategies with his forwards, possibly even playing a system where Hernandez and Van Persie are at the top and Rooney sits in behind them. It might create more offensive chances for the team.

Moyes has one more chance to save the season; his team must reverse the result against Olympiacos when the teams battle in the second leg. However, a loss in that game will surely spell the end for the United manager.

Is there any other reason that Moyes should be fired? Do you think he deserves another chance?
