Nokia does not seem to be satisfied with the status quo any more.

In a recent advertisement, the company teases that "Things are about to change," capturing video of a woman riding a bike while the date 5.09.2012 flashes on the screen. September 5th just happens to be the same date that Nokia will be hosting an event in New York City alongside Microsoft, where Windows Phone 8-bundled smartphones are rumored to make an appearance. Nokia is expected to announce a Lumia smartphone with integrated PureView camera technology at the conference.

In early June, Richard Kerris, Nokia's vice president of worldwide relations, noted that we should expect PureView to come to Lumia devices "very soon." Adding to the speculation, Engadget observes that the ad uses the same font that was employed for the Nokia Pureview launch.

So, what is PureView? Nokia's camera technology provides a 41-megapixel sensor, 3x lossless zoom for stills, and 4x zoom in full HD 1080p. For 720p HD video, the tech provides 6x lossless zoom and nHD (640x360) video with 12x zoom.

To translate, Engadget notes that "not only is video performance absolutely superb - easily beating the competition - sound quality is another strong point thanks to Nokia's Rich Recording technology, which uses MEMS digitial microphones and enables clear, distortion-free audio capture at levels up to 140-145dBs."

The site asks, "So what do images taken with the 808 PureView look like? Stunning, detailed, vibrant and noise-free."

In one short week, all of your questions will be answered.
