One Direction member Liam Payne has been considered by fans, the Directioners, as "the responsible one." So it comes as a shock to hear the 20-year-old singer had reportedly sworn up a storm just recently, after being told that his flight would be delayed for four hours.

"Fellow passengers watched in horror as the 20-year-old started 'swearing up a storm' after being told there was a four-hour delay on his flight from Puerto Rico to Philadelphia," The Mirror reported Sunday.

Liam was just coming from a week-long vacation at a resort in Peter Island, the five-star Falcon's Nest Villa. He was said to be in a hurry to go back home in time for girlfriend Sophia Smith's birthday. However, things didn't go as smoothly as he hoped. U.S. Airways flight 770, which was supposed to be his ride home, was grounded because of a bomb threat.

"Liam was livid. He was tired and grumpy, and just wanted to get home because it was his girlfriend's birthday. He snapped at officials and started swearing. Everyone was quite taken aback," a source revealed.

But when he saw that he's not the only one experiencing such an unfortunate situation, he "quickly calmed down."

"He apologised soon after. He didn't mean any offense," the insider said.

However, a 1D fan was not pleased with his demeanor during the ordeal. Brooklyn Willes, who was also vacationing in Puerto Rico, was not happy that Liam "refused to smile" when she asked to have a photo taken with him.

"Just because you're famous doesn't mean you should be a jerk to your fans," she tweeted.

Well, at least he did agree to the photo op.

Hours later, the Directioner apologized for her rant and said that she still loves the band and their music.

After police did a search on the plane and found no bombs, the jet finally took off after nearly 4 hours.

Liam's outburst was the second time in weeks, with the first one involving his tweet to Duck Dynasty cast member Willie Robertson. He was accused of being "anti-gay" over his "love" for the controversial show.
