Lionsgate will not postpone the release of the upcoming films "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1 and 2"

After the death of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, there was speculation that the actor had not finished shooting the film and that it would delay production. However, Lionsgate confirmed that Hoffman had a few days left in the production but the majority of the actor's scenes had been completed.

The studio released a statement which stated, "Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation. We're very fortunate that he graced our 'Hunger Games' family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip's family."

"Mockingjay" began shooting in September in Atlanta and is planned to continue shooting throughout the spring before production moves to Berlin and Paris for a month. The studio intends production to end in May.

Meanwhile, Hoffman has two new films slated to be released this year. Anton Corbin's "A Most Wanted Man" will be released by Roadside Attractions and is slated to launch in August.

However, "God's Pocket" still does not have a release date. IFC recently acquired the movie at the Sundance Film Festival and is still working to finalize release plans.

The actor also left behind a project he was attached to direct. Exclusive Media had recently announced that Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal had joined the upcoming feature Ezekiel Moss and that they would shop it at the European Film Market. However, the company released a statement which stated, "it will not be presenting the film to buyers and producers will explore the next steps for the film."

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" is slated for release on Nov. 21, 2014 and Part 2 on Nov. 20, 2015.
