Juan Mata's first experience with Manchester United was a positive one as he played 85 minutes in a 2-0 win over Cardiff City.

"It's been amazing," Mata stated after the game, according to ESPN. "The most important thing is we won and hopefully this is the start of a good run of results. It's been an amazing game for me, I tried my best and my team-mates were very good. The atmosphere was just unbelievable."

Mata is likely to get more playtime with his new team than he did with Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. The Spaniard only got two assists in 13 games for Chelsea; he did not play in nine of the team's first 22 matches. He did not overlook this detail when talking about his time with United thus far.

"It's been a while since I did it [played a match], since the January 1st," he added. "I am very happy to have played and I look forward to playing more."

When he was acquired earlier in the week, he noted that he was excited about playing alongside Wayne Rooney; from the looks of it, he was fully satisfied.

"I feel very good. When you are playing alongside players like Robin [van Persie], Chicharito, [Wayne] Rooney and Adnan [Januzaj], all of them they are very good. I look forward to playing at the weekend now," he added.

Mata was acquired for 37 million pounds and is the second major acquisition for manager David Moyes; Moyes bought Marouane Fellaini this summer from Everton. The team is also rumored to have interest in Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos.
