Barcelona can relax. Paris Saint-Germain has no intention of buying Lionel Messi from the Spanish side. According to PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi, the team does not have the money to make the move for the Argentine superstar.

Messi currently has a 250 million euro buyout clause. Even though Paris Saint-Germain is known as one of the richest clubs in the world, Al Khelaifi acknowledges that the amount is a tremendous amount to pay.

"No, never," Al Khelaifi said when asked if he would be willing to pay Messi's buyout clause, according to ESPN. "If we didn't have any limit, we'd bring in Messi. If Messi isn't coming to Paris, it's because some limits really exist."

Paris Saint-Germain has been linked with the superstar before. This past summer Al Khelaifi threatened to buyout Messi after reports emerged that Barcelona was looking to purchase Paris' defenseman Thiago Silva.

"If Barca pay the buy-out clause of Thiago Silva then I will meet Messi's buy-out clause," he stated this past summer, according Sky Sports.

Any team might be wary of buying Messi at this point, especially when considering how he has been playing of late. He has scored for Barcelona, but has failed to put the ball in the net in the Spanish League since September. Of course, Messi has also been injured for most of that time and looks slated to return to form at some point.

One has to wonder, however, why Paris Saint-Germain keeps getting brought up in reference to a potential Messi transfer.

Is Messi headed to PSG?
