The Royal Family is in need of a new housekeeper. The Buckingham Palace recently posted a job ad on the Royal Household website for a housekeeper position.

According to the advertisement, the chosen candidate will receive £14,000.00 a year, which is around $27,300, News.com.au reports. The successful applicant will work inside the palace with accommodations under the department of the Master of the Household's office.

The job responsibility mainly involves "high quality cleaning, presentation, and guest care" at the Queen's residence. Specific tasks include, providing personal service to guests such as running baths and assisting with dressing, preparing breakfast trays, cleaning antiques, and appearing at receptions and other events for "front-of-house duties".

In an article on Sky News, the housekeeper will also be responsible for looking after the Queen's Jewelry and will also be assigned to work at other royal residences outside of London for three months every year.

To be qualified for the position, applicants must have the following traits: a passion for hospitality, close attention to detail, eagerness to learn, a positive attitude, and ability to meet the standards of providing exceptional service to the Queen, "enabling her to serve the nation and its people".

Most importantly, since the housekeeper will be closely working for the Royal Family, the successful candidate must be trustworthy in terms of "maintaining confidentiality".

The department in which the housekeeper will be reporting to, the Master of the Household's Office, is primarily responsible for "the staffing of the hospitality and catering events and all domestic arrangements at royal residences in the UK, be they official or private, or on special occasions abroad."

Overall, the Royal Household employs 1,200 staff members. These employees work under various departments and fields such as gardening, finance, IT, furniture restoration, equine management, media relations, marketing, property surveying and maintenance, and human resources.
