JJ Abrams told the Wrap that the full script for the new "Star Wars" movie has been completed. Abrams also disclosed to the entertainment news site that preparations for film production are also under way.

"Star Wars: Episode VII," the new installment of Disney Films and Lucasfilm's science fiction franchise, was aimed to fulfill an earlier promise to deliver a new installment to fans and moviegoers every year, said ScreenRant. Although Abrams has yet to confirm a timetable for film production, the report said shooting for the new "Star Wars" film could start before the end of this year.

Abrams also spoke on rumors about having "Breaking Bad" actor Jesse Plemons in the new film. Plemons earlier shut down talks about him playing a lead role in the film. The Wrap said Abrams has clarified rumors that even if Plemons issued a denial, it does not mean that the actor is not going to be in the film.

"He is one of the actors that we've talked to, yeah, But, you know. It's not often that I read about actors that I'm going to be meeting... that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I'm going to see you.' ... It's usually agents talking to people about what's happening. It's a lot of noise," Abrams said at a summer press tour of the Television Critics Association.

A separate report from the Wrap said Abrams has penned the "Star Wars" script with Lawrence Kasdan. Kasdan is credited for writing the scripts of earlier "Star Wars" films, including "The Empire Strikes Back."

Meanwhile, a blog post on TwitchFilm argued that despite the fact that the new film could have a stellar cast, have Abrams at its helm, and the full backing of the film franchise, focusing on the iconic characters Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo could result to a cinematic disappointment.
