He has been criticized for being a "general" by FIFA President Sepp Blatter. The Spanish press has often called him "Tristiano" for the fits and tantrums he has thrown during his time with Real Madrid. He has also been called arrogant and pedantic. Some have gone so far as to call him selfish.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to prove everyone wrong.

The superstar recently gave a cancer-stricken patient the day of his young life. Upon hearing that a young boy Jorge idolized him, Ronaldo sent the patient a signed photo. But the magic did not end there. Ronaldo also called up the boy's family and invited them to attend Real Madrid's match against Celta Vigo this past Monday; Jorge and his family got to sit in Ronaldo's own private box. Ronaldo scored two goals in that game.

"It was a dream come true for me and the truth is, I'm endlessly thankful for what he has done," said Jorge, according to Yahoo. "It's something very emotional for me, because I never thought it would happen to me.

"I was in the VIP box with all his family, and with his son who's a very intelligent little boy, very friendly and polite and very handsome as well. It was incredible."

Jorge's mother was equally emotionally about Ronaldo's gesture toward his son.

"I am thankful to Cristiano beyond words for what he has done for my son. He's such a special person. He's truly an angel. And my family and I will never, never, forget what he's done," said Jorge's mother. "People can say what they want, but he's a true angel. Thank you for everything, Cristiano."

Ronaldo has been known for giving back to his fans. Earlier this year, he broke a young boy's arm with a free-kick. As an apology, he sent him a signed jersey.
