A little over a month after the death of South African leader Nelson Mandela, U2 has released the official video for their new song "Ordinary Love," a song inspired by the former South African President that will be included on the soundtrack for the movie "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom."

According to EFE, the band premiered the video on their website. The video is directed by Oliver Jeffers and Marc Premo who were responsible for the first barebones lyrics video of the song, which only included still images and the lyrics to the song.

In the new promo, the Irish band appears in various scenes and the original format of the song has been respected.

U2's new production will not only serve to promote the new movie on Mandela, but has also aroused speculation about the band's upcoming album, after a long four-year wait since "No Line On The Horizon," the band's last album from 2009.

According to Rolling Stone, U2 became friends with Mandela years ago, so it's no surprise they agreed to contribute to the soundtrack of the new movie based on one of the greatest social leaders of the 20th century.

"When I asked them if they would consider writing a song for 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,' it was the quickest 'yes' I've ever gotten," the film's producer, Harvey Weinstein said, according to Rolling Stone.

"The band watched various cuts of the movie during summer and worked diligently to write a song that would really reflects Nelson Mandela. I think they made brilliant work in honor of the man and leader they knew for over 20 years," Weinstein concluded.
