Katy Perry, John Mayer Call It Quits, Break Up

Singers Katy Perry and John Maher have called it quits on their short-termed relationship, US Weekly reported on Thursday.

The magazine first reported the romance between Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, on June 19. According to the magazine, the couple made an "affectionate" appearance at members-only Soho House in West Hollywood and their romance blossomed.

PEOPLE magazine reported that the two dated casually and that they may remain friends. "There isn't any emotional baggage with them," a source told the magazine. "They may go out again, even, just as friends."

The split was started by Mayer, PEOPLE stated, but was ultimately a decision made mutually. Shortly after the breakup was announced, both celebrities were spotted having fun in separate West Hollywood hot spots.

Perry divorced British comedian and actor Russell Brand earlier this year after 14 months of marriage. She was briefly tied to Florence + the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd.

Mayer has dated a slew of celebrities including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift.
