The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences has announced that 75 songs will compete for the Best Song category.

The top contender in the category is "Let it Go" from "Frozen" by Demi Lovato. Another song that has a lot of buzz and is most likely to get nominated is Lana del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" from "The Great Gatsby." That movie will also compete with "100$ Bill," "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)," "Over The Love," and "Together."

The animated picture "Epic" has two songs contending entitled "Gonna Be Alright" and "Rise Up."

Some of the Best Picture contenders also have songs competing. These include "Amen" from "All is Lost," "The Moon Song" from "Her," "My Lord Sunshine (Sunrise)" from "12 Years a Slave," and "Last Mile Home" from "August: Osage County."

The SXSW Film Festival winner "Short Term 12" was also shortlisted for the rap song "So You Know What It's Like."

Previous winners in the Best Song ctaegory have included "The Muppets," "Skyfall," "Toy Story 3," "Crazy Heart," and "Slumdog Millionaire."

The 86th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. EST in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The award ceremony will then be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center and will be televised live on ABC. The presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
