They're still very much in love and happy with their respective partners, so don't think these clips of Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis locked in a passionate smooch are going to start a new scandal. They're just set to drum up excitement and anticipation over their upcoming science fiction flick, Jupiter Ascending, which is directed by the Wachowskis of The Matrix fame.

This triumvirate of talents should give science fiction and special-effects film aficionados much reason to get a bit feverish over its release. The two-minute trailer itself manages to whet appetites for visually stimulating images and that edge-of-your-seat sensation as it showcases "epic space battles" and "Matrix-esque fight scenes," the Daily Mail reported.

Watch the trailer below:

Magic Mike star Tatum stars as Caine, a genetically engineered interplanetary warrior who has been trained to protect Jupiter Jones, Kunis' character. The buff actor is almost unrecognizable with his bleached hair, beard, and eyebrows.

Jones is a lowly janitor whose genetic makeup incidentally is the same perfect one that the Queen of the Universe has. Thus, she is targeted for elimination, to remove any threat to the Queen's position.

Sean Bean also stars in the film as Stinger, a "Han Solo"-type character who dispatches Caine to his mission. He is seen in the clip telling Tatum's character that the one thing he has been searching his whole life is "down there."

Lana Wachowski, one half of the Wachowski directing duo, has been noted by Wired as saying that this film is "a science-fiction space opera" and marks the creative siblings' return to making a fully original story since The Matrix trilogy.

The clip ends with a shot of Kunis falling through empty space - will the ground break her fall or will a hero save her in the nick of time?

Jupiter Ascending will be in theaters on July 25, 2014.
