Could Luis Suarez head to Real Madrid in January? If Los Blancos are intent on buying him from Liverpool, then they made need to free up 60 million pounds.

According to former Liverpool midfielder Dieter Hamann, Suarez is worth 60 million pounds, and his value is rising.

"No, absolutely it's not enough," he told Goal.com. "I think £55-60m was the figure they would have wanted at least in the summer, and you see how he's playing now, I don't think £60m would be enough."

He noted that Suarez was likely to remain with his current squad and see if it manages to win the Premier League title and book a spot in the Champions League next season.

"I don't think he'll leave in January - I don't think that's an option - Liverpool have to keep him if they want to finish it in the top four. But that remains to be seen," he said. "If they don't finish in the top four then there might be a chance for him to leave. He's given his service now, done his utmost to get Liverpool into the top four and unfortunately they haven't managed it so far."

Suarez has scored six goals in his last two games for Liverpool and has been the most dynamic player in the entire Premier League thus far this season. He has 14 goals and two assists in just 10 games in 2013-14 and is on pace for his best season to date. Liverpool currently sits in second place in the Premier League with 30 points in 15 games and looks like a sure bet to finish in the top four this season barring any major catastrophe. The team has been consistent throughout the year and only has three losses on the year.

Real Madrid has been a team often associated with Suarez and is known for making big name purchases during the transfer windows.
