Puerto Rican band Calle 13 spoke of the situation in Palestine while filming their next music video from Bethlehem.

René Pérez is in the Middle East preparing the video for his new single "Multi_Viral", the lyrics of which he shared on social networks. In an interview with the Associated Press, he said that Palestinians share some similarities with Puerto Ricans.

The duet of "Residente" and "Visitante" has stood out from the beginning for their lyrics, empathic with social movements. They speak out against information manipulation by the media and governments in their new single.

"I think music never stops being music. It's always music, and the message can be political, social, anything," Calle 13 said.

The singer said that Puerto Rico is subjected to the United States and the AP explained that all Puerto Rican citizens are considered American but they don't have the right to vote, and are subjected to what the United States dictates.

"Our President is Obama; we didn't vote for him, but he's the President. We have a government, a governor that is cosmetic."

Palestinians live in a similar situation, René Pérez said, with Israel, with whom they hope to reach an agreement to achieve independence in Gaza and the West Bank, and that Palestinians and Puerto Ricans could understand each other.

The duet released the lyrics for "Multi_Viral" on the Twitter account @Calle13Oficial, composed along with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and in a collaboration with Twitter users who sent them messages regarding the manipulation of information by the media.

News agency EFE pointed out that the song also features Israeli singer Kamilya Jubran and Tom Morello, former member of Rage Against the Machine.

The video simulates a compromised computer system and some key phrases that Pérez sings in different languages such as Spanish, French and English.
