Billed as her most personal album to date, Britney Spears's eighth studio album Britney Jean is a letdown, as far as the music industry is concerned. According to The Republic, the former pop princess lacked the sex appeal and hook that would have made her album memorable, as it did for her famous hits, "Toxic" and "Slave 4 U."

Some analysts say that one of the reasons why the album is a letdown is because there were so many talents who collaborated for the project, losing Britney's personal touch. The list includes David Guetta in "It Should Be Easy" and "Till It's Gone", Sia co-wrote "Perfume", while Black-Eyed Peas member Will.i.am produced the album. The list of talents working on Britney Jean did not make tap into the "personal" level that Britney described the album to be. Mesfin Fukado of ABC News even went as far as questioning if these collaborative stars went so far as "purposely giving her C- and D-level material."

Said Randall Roberts from the LA Times, Britney should "follow the advice in 'Work Bitch' and 'work hard, like it's your profession.'" Roberts also added that, "Spears' voice so digitally overworked that she doesn't sound like herself, her recognizable tone infused with some weird nasality that unintentionally suggests an android Betty Boop."

The Daily Beast's Kevin Fallon, however, thinks otherwise. In his post, he said, " ...She's still capable of churning out a great, if not revolutionary, pop record. At 32 and after 20 years in the business, maybe that's all we need to know about Britney Spears..."

As a "personal" album critics say that, none of the tracks reveal so much of who she is as a person. The most that the listeners will learn is that Jean is her middle name, and she prefers red wine over white.

HitsDoubleDaily predicts Britney Jean will debut at 150,000 to 200,000 in sales, as there is not much promotion for the album, with no hit single to pull it up the charts. The best in the tracklist is "Work Bitch" which peaked only at #12 in the Charts.
