Natalie Portman recently revealed a juicy fact about one of the scenes in the blockbuster superhero flick Thor: The Dark World. The 32-year-old actress told NY Daily News that Chris Hemsworth's wife, Fast & Furious 6 actress Elsa Pataky, had to stand in for her during reshoots for the movie - not that she purposely chose to give her Australian co-star a treat by having him smooch his own spouse instead.

"It was for reshoots (after the film was finished) and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn't get there because I was working on my own film," the Oscar-winning beauty explained. "And so they put his wife in my wig and costume, that's why it was so passionate."

Pataky, who is currently expecting her second child with the Thor star, was traveling with Hemsworth during the reshoots together with their 18-month-old daughter India Rose at the time, according to the Daily Mail

Portman played Hemsworth's on-screen love interest, Dr. Jane Foster, an astrophysicist who was brought to Thor's home Asgard after she got infected by the Aether, a mysterious energy used as a weapon by the Dark Elf Malekith - the hammer-wielding hero's new nemesis in the second installment of the Thor film franchise.

"It was such a perfect solution, wasn't it," the Black Swan star said, referring to the stunt double duty Pataky played with Hemsworth for the final scene of Thor: The Dark World, where the pair shared a passionate kiss at the tail end of the movie credits. The clever camera angles helped the couple to pull off the trick, leaving audiences unsuspecting of the switcheroo.

This candid revelation should prompt fans to review clips of the said scene to watch Hemsworth kiss his real life beloved, sans the acting.

Previously, Us Weekly reported that the 5'3" Portman made a joke about her casting in the blockbuster movie on The Graham Norton Show. "I was mainly cast in the role because I can make anyone look huge when they stand next to me. I'm extraordinarily short. They usually had a ramp for me to walk up so I could land somewhere near his face," she said in jest about working with 6'4" Hemsworth.
