Manchester United will look to clinch a spot in the round of 16 in the Champions league when it takes on Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

United currently sits atop Group A with eight points but only holds a one-point lead on Leverkusen and leads Shakhtar Donetsk by three. A win puts United four points clear of Leverkusen with one game left to play; that would essentially clinch a round of 16 berth as Leverkusen would not be able to catch United. The English side would clinch first place if it wins and Shakhtar fails to pick up all three points against Real Sociedad.

The two sides faced off back on Sept. 17 in a game that Manchester United won 4-2. However, the English side has struggled massively and is out of the running to reclaim its Premier League crown.

"I'm disappointed. It's similar to Southampton where we had the game in our control with a minute to go and conceded from a set-piece. It's cost us, ultimately," said Manager David Moyes, according to ESPN.

Leverkusen sits in second place in the Premier League but has struggled to put up notable performances in the Champions League. The team dominated Shakhtar at home 4-0 but then only managed a 0-0 draw on the road.

Player to Watch: Wayne Rooney has been on fire for United and must continue to show that he is the most important player on the club.

Prediction: Leverkusen defeats United at home by the score of 2-1.

Start Time: 2:45 p.m. EST
