Apple Inc. has teamed with the American Red Cross in an effort to provide disaster relief to victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The Cupertino-based organization has utilized its iTunes program as a source for customers to donate money to the American Red Cross.

According to the Cupertino-based organization, iTunes will transfer 100 percent of the customer's donation to the American Red Cross. Apple noted the user's iTunes information will not be disclosed to the American Red Cross, therefore, the charity organization will not further acknowledge the donation.

"You will receive an email receipt form the iTunes Store which will serve as your only acknowledgment of your donation," highlighted Apple on iTunes.

The donation will appear on the customer's credit card statement. Apple noted the person making the donation will not receive any goods in return from iTunes, and the donation is not qualified for any tax deduction.

iTunes Store credit is ineligible for donations.

As Latinos Post reported, Verizon Wireless has also introduced methods for employees and customers to donate for disaster relief. The mobile carrier announced it will donate a $100,000 grant for the American Red Cross Philippines Typhoon Appeal Fund. In addition, Verizon Wireless has waived fees on customers trying to call and text friends and family in the Philippines.
