The first poster to "Maleficent" has been revealed in anticipation for the upcoming trailer.

The new poster shows Angelina Jolie dressed in the iconic Maleficent costume. Jolie also peers out from behind a black cape that covers part of her face. Additionally it shows Jolie's pale skin, red lips and intense green and brown eyes.

The poster comes out a day before the release of the trailer, which is slated to premiere on Nov. 13.

The new movie tells the story of the villainous Maleficent and looks at the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse young Princess Aurora.

The movie marks the return of Jolie to the silver screen after an absence of four years. Her last appearance was in 2010 in the movie "The Tourist." She later directed the 2011 Golden Globe Nominee "In the Land of Blood and Honey" and is currently working on her second film "Unbroken," which is slated to star Garret Hedlund, Domhnall Gleeson and Jai Courtney.

The new film marks the third time Disney has used a classic movie and given it a different perspective. The first foray was in 2010 when Tim Burton directed the successful "Alice in Wonderland," a remake of the original animated film, which emphasized the character of the mad-hatter. In 2013, Sam Raimi directed "Oz: The Great and Powerful," which was a prequel to the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz." Disney is also currently working on a remake of "Cinderella," which is slated to star Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Lily James.

"Maleficent" co-stars Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley and Juno Temple. It was directed by Robert Stromberg and written by Linda Woolverton. Jolie and Joe Roth produced the film. Disney will release the movie on May 30, 2014 in 3D.
