The warmth and humility of Pope Francis continues to surprise thousands of people throughout the world, even those who don't profess the Catholic religion.

In just eight months as Pope, Francis has demonstrated that humble acts can be the most powerful.

On Thursday at the Vatican, Jorge Mario Bergoglio welcomed a recently-married couple, voluntary members of the Associazione Arcobaleno Marco Laguili, an organization which seeks to provide moral, psychological and economic support to families with children suffering from cancer.

The organization has distinguished itself for using humor to give hope to sick children, which is why the couple wore the characteristic red noses they use for work during their visit to the Vatican.

According to Univisión, the recently-married couple offered a red nose to the Pope, and Francisco started wearing it immediately, showing his sense of humor and humility, but above all, reaffirming his support for humanitarian causes.

On the website of the Associazione Arcobaleno Marco Laguili, the NGO informs that its members have the objective of helping and delivering happiness to children with cancer and their families, and uploaded a note regarding the Pope's actions.

Not long before, the Pope surprised everyone when after his actions in St. Peter's Square, he stopped to hug a man with neurofibromatosis, a neuronal disease which produces skin tumors and bone deformities.

The moving pictures have spread like wildfire, according to the Pope's official blog, since they picture the pope showing his compassion towards the pain of others. On Wednesday's act, Francis hugged the man and didn't hesitate to caress and kiss his wounds before blessing the man.

With these simple, but profound acts, Francis has made it very clear that his speech and actions are very different from those other previous Popes, which has earned him unusual acceptance that keeps spreading among the faithful.
