'The Railway Man' UK Trailer and Poster Premiere

Lionsgate has released the international trailer and poster to the upcoming film "The Railway Man."

Starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth, the film tells the story of a victim from World War II's "Death Railway," which sets him on a path to find those responsible for his torture.

The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to favorable reviews with Peter Debruge from Variety stating "Lomax found heroism in compassion, and that attitude is what audiences are bound to connect with so deeply here, even if such an outcome proves almost anti-dramatic onscreen."

Catherine Shoard from the Guardian UK gave the film four stars out of five and wrote, "[An] extremely affecting and accomplished drama ..."

However, there were some negative reviews. The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney wrote, "A former P.O.W.'s extraordinary story gets a plodding retelling in Jonathan Teplitzky's poorly-structured drama."

Kidman was last seen in "Stoker," "The Paperboy" and "Hemingway and Gellhorn." She will next be seen in "Grace of Monaco," "Paddington" and "The Family Fang."

Firth is best known for his Academy Award-winning performance in "The King's Speech." He has also been seen in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," "A Single Man," "Love Actually" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring."

The film was directed by Jonathon Teplitzky and stars Jeremy Irvine, Stellan Skarsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada and Sam Reid. "The Railway Man" is slated to be released in the U.K. on Jan. 1. The Weinstein Company will be in charge of releasing the film in the U.S but does not have a release date set at the moment.
