Chelsea will look to establish a stronghold on Group E in the Champions league when it takes on Schalke 04 on Wednesday.

The English side enters the match with six points in three games. While it is tied with Schalke for the top spot in the group, a win would put Chelsea in first place with a comfortable lead heading into its final two games with FC Basel and Steaua Bucharest.

Of course, Chelsea must find some consistency in order to accomplish this feat. The Blues are coming off a tough 2-0 loss against Newcastle United in the Premier League. Coach Jose Mourinho was not complimentary of his team and repeatedly expressed his frustration at the team's inconsistency this season.

"You have to know why you win, and you don't win by a miracle. You win by effort, you win by commitment, you win by ambition, you win by quality and you win by expressing yourself individually but in the team context," he said, according to ESPN. "You have to know why you win and I tell my players every time I can, every time I have meetings with them: 'Don't forget why you are getting results.' We are in a stable position to qualify in the Champions League, but if we lose against Schalke we are in a difficult position, so Wednesday is an important game for us."

Chelsea defeated Schalke 3-0 in Germany the last time these two teams met.

Prediction: Mourinho is a genius and will get his players to respond at home. Expect a 2-0 win from the Blues.

Start Time: Kick-off starts at 2:45 p.m. EST
