Singer and "The Voice" judge Christina Aguilera collaborated with pop-duo A Great Big World on their song "Say Something," Latina reported. The 32-year-old star fell in love with the song written by Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino and asked them to be part of it.

"I'm only taking on projects that feel good to me and represent a purpose of the 'here and now' in my life, and that's what this song 'Say Something' actually does for me," said Aguilera in a release.

"This song, 'Say Something,' it's sort of coming to me in a time I'm feeling very inspired," said the singer. "It's so simple, and it's so quiet, and still, and steady, and in a way, pleading to hear something, to hear some kind of answer or get an answer. In the most humble, unassuming, non-demanding way."

Axel and Vaccarino confessed they couldn't believe it when Aguilera asked them to be in the song, which both original version and the version featuring Aguilera will be part of their debut album 'Is Anybody Out There?.' "When our manager told us that Christina wanted to sing on one of the tracks, on "Say Something," it was really hard to process," they said.

"It is a healing and hopeful song and we simply cannot believe how many people this song has resonated with. It's one of the greatest honors in the world to know that your art is making a positive impact," said the artists. "Even more so, it's an incredible privilege to have the support of Christina. Collaborating with her is something we'll both remember forever."

"When we wrote the song we felt so alone writing it. And we write for to hear ourselves but we also write just to connect, it's like the human experience that we all are in this together. And this song and this message we feel like we died to kinda write the song and came back alive. To be able to share that it's the ultimate reason to live."
