Chiwetel Ejiofor is rumored to star in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII."

The British actor was reported to have met with director J.J Abrams about the film. Before an interview with Abrams, the Times saw Ejiofor in the waiting room of the Bad Robot production company.

The Times later asked Abrams about Ejiofor and Abrams stated, "I can't discuss casting... but [Ejiofor] is a very talented gentleman."

Later on the red carpet for the premiere of "12 Years a Slave," Ejiofor was evasive when asked about "Star Wars: Episode VII." He stated, "We'll see if it happens... I'm not going to tell you."

The answer made bloggers and pundits speculate that the actor could potentially have already been cast or is in consideration for a role in the film.

Ejiofor is currently starring in "12 Years a Slave," which is garnering Oscar buzz. The actor has starred in "Inside Man," "Children of Men" and "2012." He has also been seen in "American Gangster," "Salt," "Talk to Me," "Kinky Boots" and "Redbelt."

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is rumored to have been suffering production problems with some speculating that the film may be delayed. The movie is currently casting with Alex Pettyfer, Saoirse Ronan, Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel Hurd-Wood rumored to star.

Disney will release the film in 2015 with production slated to begin in 2014 in the U.K. Kathleen Kennedy will produce the film while John Williams will compose the score.
