Melita Fabceic will represent Croatia in this year's Miss Universe Pageant.

The Crotian model was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia, where she is currently a student at the Zagreb School of Economy and Management and hopes to be part of a large humanitarian project. Among her many interests are dancing, traveling and drawing. She also loves to design jewelry. Fabceic also volunteered in a home for abandoned children, where she collected clothes and taught them to develop their creativity.

Fabceic's road to Miss Universe began when she worked as a successful model in Milan, Italy. She lived there for three months when she was 17 years old. She was later hailed as the most beautiful and sexiest Croat in 2012 by Globus magazine. In May, Fabecic was crowned Miss Universe Hrvatske 2013 among 20 contestants during the annual beauty competition.

Croatia started sending candidates for the annual pageant in 1997 and has done so every single year since. The country has never won but in 2009 Sarah Cosic placed in the top 15 and Elizabeta Burg placed in the top 16.

The Miss Universe Pageant is a beauty contest that promotes women who are looking to make a difference. The winner of the contest reigns for one year and gets to travels all over the world. Additionally, the winner receives one year supply of cosmetics, wardrobe, shoes and acting classes. The current Miss Universe, Olivia Culpo, will crown the new winner on Nov. 9 at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.
