Apple's lightest and thinnest 9.7-inch iPad has officially launched worldwide on Nov. 1 across Apple's official website and retail stores.

The Cupertino-based organization revealed the iPad Air on Oct. 22, during an Apple Special Event from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif.

Apple announced the iPad Air features a 9.7-inch screen with Retina Display at 2,048x1,536 resolution. The new Apple tablet is available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, but doesn't offer a microSD card slot. The iPad Air's rear-facing camera has 5 megapixels at 2,592x1,944 pixels, and the front-facing camera has 1.2 megapixels. The tablet utilizes the A7 dual-core 1.3GHz Cyclone processor and runs on the iOS 7 mobile operating system.

The fifth-generation tablet, however, does not feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor as seen on the iPhone 5s.

In regards to prices, the 16GB iPad Air will cost the consumer for $499, the 32GB model is priced at $599, $699 for the 64GB model, and $799 for the 128GB variant. With cellular data, the 16GB model cost $629, 32GB model is priced at $729, $829 for the 64GB, and $929 for the 128GB variant.

The iPad Air launched in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.

Ahead of the Nov. 1 launch date, Apple premiered the first commercial for the iPad Air featuring actor Bryan Cranston. The "Breaking Bad" actor narrated the one-minute advertisement, which focused on how the iPad is used for many occasions, such as in the classroom, bedroom, or conference room, to name a few (see video below).

"iPad created an entirely new mobile computing experience, and the new iPad Air is another big leap ahead. It is so thin, light and powerful, once you hold one in your hand you will understand what a tremendous advancement this is," said Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller.
