David Moyes has now won three straight games with Manchester United, but the pressure has not diminished. There are many that are calling for his head in order to send a message to the team to get back on track. However, David Beckham believes that fans need to practice a bit more patience with the new manager.
"I played with him [Moyes] during my loan spell at Preston and I've seen him progress as a manager over the years at Everton," said Beckham, according to ESPN. "I'm really happy for him that he got the job at United because he's a really great person and he's a talented manger. It's good to see him there and the United fans are behind him well which is a good thing."
He noted that the transition is a difficult situation for Moyes, especially because he has to step in for the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
"Whoever took over after Sir Alex Ferguson left it was always going to be a difficult time, a transitional time, but at the end of the day, it's like when a player leaves, Manchester United are still Manchester United," Beckham added. "Sir Alex has retired, but David Moyes has taken over, United always move on when they sell players and I'm sure they will with Moyes as manager now."
The defending Premier League champions currently sit in eighth place on the table and are eight points out of first place. United has not won consecutive games all season long but things could be turning around as the team has put together a string of wins in different tournaments. The team defeated Real Sociedad 1-0 last week in the Champions League before taking down Stoke City 3-2 in the Premier League this past weekend. The team then won 4-0 over Norwich City in the Capital Cup on Wednesday.
