Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in Canada: Nokia Lumia 'Available' for Lumia 520, 920 with Most Mobile Carriers; 'Not Available' for Lumia 620 by Koodo [Video]

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update has arrived to most eligible Nokia Lumia devices in Canada, but one model is holding out.

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update includes improvements to the Nokia Lumia's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few tweaks.

According to Nokia, the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update will be available for the Lumia 520, umia 620, and Lumia 920 smartphones.

As of Oct. 29, the Amber Update has been labeled "Available" for the aforementioned Lumia devices except one.

The Lumia 620 has been labeled "Not available" for the Lumia 620 though mobile carrier Koodo. It is unknown why Nokia labeled the Koodo Lumia 620 "Not available" when it was previously listed as "Waiting for approval." Nokia had defined "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. 

Meanwhile, the Lumia 520's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is available via mobile carriers Chatr Wireless, Koodo, PC Mobile, Rogers, and Telus.

The Lumia 620's Amber Update is available from Telus while Rogers has the update for the Lumia 920.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"

According to Nokia, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
