Bordeaux will look to salvage its Europa League hopes when it takes on APOEL on Thursday.

The French side has been woeful in its first two games of the tournament and has yet to register a single point. In its opener, Bordeaux was dominated in Frankfurt by Eintracht Frankfurt; the game ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favor of the German side. In its second game of the tournament, Bordeaux gave up two late tallies against Maccabi Tel Aviv and wound up losing 2-1. The team had held a 1-0 lead since the 48th minute but could not close out the Israeli side at home.

APOEL has fared slightly better than its Thursday rivals but is the heavy underdog heading into this game. The Cyprus squad opened its tournament with 0-0 tie in Tel Aviv but wound up dominated at home by Frankfurt by the score of 3-0.

A win by Bordeaux would put it back in the race for second place. A draw would leave it last place regardless of the results in the other match between Tel Aviv and Frankfurt. A win by APOEL would leave Bordeaux in the basement of the group for at least another game or two.

Prediction: The French squad has always been seen as a favorite to finish atop this group and despite poor performances to start, a better performance is expected from Bordeaux. Look for the side to revel in its home field advantage and take advantage of the weaker side. This could be a rout that ends 3-0 or 4-0.
