With Apple's October event approaching, an analyst has made his latest projections regarding the features of the fifth-generation 9.7-inch tablet.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, via 9to5Mac, the iPad 5 will be 20 percent lighter and thinner than the current iPad with Retina Display (iPad 4). With the slim down of the iPad, the tablet may be around 7.5mm and weigh 500 grams.

As previous reports have speculated, the iPad 5 is expected to have a narrow bezel design as seen with the iPad mini. Kuo's reason for the narrow bezel design for the iPad 5 is to the make the full-sized tablet "easier to carry and more aesthetically pleasing."

The iPad 5 might also sport the 64-big A7X processor for better computing power.

Similar to the iPhone 5s, the iPad 5 is expected to have a larger camera aperture. In regards to the camera, the rear-facing camera of the iPad 5 is forecasted to have 8 megapixels.

An important update by Kuo concerned about the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

"[The iPad 5] probably doesn't have fingerprint sensor (but home button form factor may be similar to that of the iPhone 5s) and gold casing," wrote Kuo, in a note to investors.

Apple confirmed an Oct. 22 event will take place from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif., but the Cupertino-based organization didn't specify its purpose. The event is largely speculated to be the setting for the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2's debut.

Apple's Oct. 22 event starts at 1 p.m. EST. Latinos Post will provide full coverage of the event.
