Nokia Lumia 521 Review: T-Mobile Windows Phone 8 Smartphone No. 1 WP Device in U.S., AT&T Topples Verizon as Top WP Mobile Carrier, Says AdDuplex

A new Nokia Lumia smartphone has become the move popular Windows Phone device in the U.S.

As Latinos Post reported, a new Lumia smartphone dethroned another Windows Phone device to claim the top position based on AdDuplex's figures.

Latinos Post can now reveal the most utilized Windows Phone smartphone in the U.S., based on AdDuplex, is the Lumia 521 by T-Mobile.

The Lumia 521 accounted for 19.2 percent of the overall Windows Phone market share in the U.S.

The Lumia 822 placed second ahead of the Lumia 920 with 14.1 percent to 12.9 percent, respectively.

The HTC 8X made an appearance as the sole-HTC smartphone and first of two non-Nokia Lumia devices to place in AdDuplex top 10 Windows Phone devices in the U.S. The HTC 8X finished fourth with 11.5 percent.

The Lumia 928 rounded up the top five with six percentage points.

The AT&T version of the Lumia 521, the Lumia 520, placed seventh with 5.2 percent.

AdDuplex's Alan Mendelevich, "U.S. now has a new leader and if you combine it with its 520 sibling you can see that almost quarter of the Windows Phones in U.S. is now represented by the lower end 52x line."

Meanwhile, when it comes to mobile carriers, a new leader has risen as the top Windows Phone 8 operator. AdDuplex revealed AT&T narrowly edged out Verizon Wireless for first place.

AT&T received 31.8 percent to Verizon Wireless' 30.7 percent. T-Mobile placed third with 20.7 percent as MetroPCS rounded the top four with 6.8 percent.

The Windows Phone 8 smartphone operating system continued to be the most used Windows Phone platform in the U.S. with 82.7 percent while Windows Phone 8 garnered 17.3 percent of the market share.

As Latinos Post reported, while the Lumia 521 is king in the U.S., the Lumia 520 placed No. 1 in the world with 23.2 percent.

AdDuplex collected its data from 1,411 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK v.2 during Oct. 11.
