The Vancouver Canucks will look to get out of an early season funk when they take on the struggling Buffalo Sabres.
The Canucks are only 4-3 to start the season and currently sit in fifth place in the Pacific division. The team is coming off a woeful 5-1 loss in Tampa Bay. The poor performance all around prompted coach John Tortorella to make a radical move as he split up the nearly inseparable Sedin twins Daniel and Henrik.
"Listen, [the twins] play really well together, and it's very tough to split them up, but I think at times that's going to happen," Tortorella said, according to NHL.com. "I think as you go through the game, those are calls we'll make, but it's awful tough to keep them away from one another because they play so very well together."
Meanwhile, the Sabres earned their first win in eight tries thanks to a poor turnover from the New York Islanders' Brian Strait. The Sabres trailed three times in the game but managed to find a way to win in the shootout despite their poor performance throughout.
"It gives us a chance to feel good for a little while and see if we can build. The key now is to build," Miller said.
Prediction: Vancouver torches Buffalo 6-1. The Sedins do not start the game together but are reunited as the Canucks take control of the match.
