Rory McIlroy has been on a slump this year and the former world No.1 put the blame on mechanical and mental issues that has been bothering him, but he declined to talk about his relationship with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.

Several reports suggested that McIlroy and Wozniacki has parted ways, but when asked about the rumored break up, McIlroy said that he wants to keep his private life private.

"My private life is private and I would like to keep it that way," McIlroy told reporters as reported by ESPN.

But while McIlroy did not give a definite answer when asked about their relationship, Wozniacki, on the other hand, expressed her disappointment with the rumors surrounding her and the golf superstar.

"I'm so tired of the rumors." Wozniacki said in interview with Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. "They occur every time Rory and I are apart a few days or do not write on Twitter. There is nothing in it, and from now on I just think that I will keep my private life private."

McIlroy started the year on top of the world rankings, but experienced a long slump that saw him drop to No. 6 in the rankings. Several experts are blaming his struggles to his decision to sign an equipment deal with Nike, but McIlroy said that the equipment has nothing to do with his slump.

"Mechanically my golf swing I fell into a couple of bad habits, and I was trying to work myself out of it. It affects mental issues as well. Golf is a game of confidence, and if you are confident it allows you to play better and freer with a free mind. Definitely nothing to do with equipment," McIlroy said.

The 24-year-old Northern Ireland native will have a busy schedule in the upcoming weeks as he is set to compete in an event in Seoul before competing in the BMW Masters in Shanghai and in a European tour event. McIlroy will also face Tiger Woods in an exhibition match on Oct. 28th in China.
