Leonardo DiCaprio's 'The Wolf of Wall Street' Release Date Likely in 2013

Despite some speculation that the film would be delayed until 2014, "The Wolf of Wall Street" may come out in 2013 after all. 

According to Showbiz 411 director Martin Scorsese is working with his editor to get a cut for December. "Now I am hearing that after much talk about a 2014 delay, Martin Scorsese is gonna make it after all. Sources say that Scorsese and editor Thelma Schoonmaker are trying desperately to deliver a manageable length version of 'The Wolf of Wall Street'; for Christmas Day release," reported Showbizz 411.

"Their goal now is Nov. 25. After that, Scorsese will leave for the Marrakesh Film Festival. That will give the capable folks at Paramount one month to get marketing and promotion together. "

"The Wolf of Wall Street" has created a lot of buzz in the past months with many pundits stating that it will be a huge movie at the Oscars. However, its lack of marketing and a new trailer recently created speculation that the film would be delayed. Additionally the movie was thought be the sneak peak at the New York Film Festival but was not ready for an early screening.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, and Jonah Hill and tells the story of Jordan Belfort, who rises to become a wealthy stockbroker. However, he eventually falls because of his involvement in crime and corruption.

Paramount has been very quiet about the release plans but it is rumored that a new trailer will be released and that an announcement will happen in the coming weeks.
