The latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy" featured fractured ceilings and broken hearts.

In episode three, "Everybody's Crying Mercy," Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) are attempting to adjust to living with a newborn. Meanwhile, Alex (Justin Chambers) admits to Cristina (Sandra Oh) that he hasn't slept with Jo (Camilla Luddington) yet because he's waiting for the right time. After a disappointing surgery, Alex goes home and seeks comfort by getting intimate with Jo. Cristina also tells Owen (Kevin McKidd) to see other people so she is not tempted to rekindle their relationship.

Webber (James Pickens Jr.) is still recovering from an almost fatal electrocution, but he is refusing Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) treatment. It is later decided that a feeding tube should be put in so Webber can eat without pain. Owen then pages everyone and shows them the damaged roof that was wrecked in the super storm. It's announced that the gang will hold a gala fundraiser to raise money to fix the maimed hospital.

Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie see a relationship therapist to try to patch up their badly damaged relationship. Not much progress is made, but Callie believes that Arizona needs therapy to find out why she cheated on her.

Episode four will mark the 200th episode of "Grey's," and the characters are celebrating with a glamorous extravaganza. Episode four is titled "Puttin' on the Ritz." The synopsis reads:

"'Puttin' on the Ritz' - The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial throw a fundraising gala which turns wildly competitive after Jackson makes a rash promise. Back at the hospital, Bailey's patience is tested when she has to deal with several extremely difficult patients. Meanwhile, Shane and Stephanie handle an incredibly busy ER by themselves and Alex reveals an emotional secret to Jo on a very special 200th episode of 'Grey's Anatomy.'"

Also in store this season is Webber's hard road to recovery. James Pickens Jr. told TVLine, "Over the next five episodes, we'll watch him in this journey, how he tries to come back from this. We haven't seen Chief in this light before, so it's going to be really interesting, really compelling."

Derek will also explore brain-mapping later in the season, which creates some waves with his wife because they are still figuring out how to balance home life and work. "We've been watching him step back a little bit in the name of Meredith and letting her shine right now, and then he's going to get pulled into something that's a little too exciting for him to ignore," executive producer Shonda Rhimes told TVGuide. "It's going to make it harder for him to step back and be a stay-at-home dad."

Watch the promo for "Puttin' on the Ritz," which airs Thursday at 9/8c on ABC.
