Angry Birds is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. While the game has been busy crossing over with the Star Wars franchise and preparing a movie, now an official theme park based on the game has opened in China that allows fans to experience the game in a variety of new ways.

Kotaku notes that while there is already an unofficial Angry Bird park in China. The first official Angry Bird-themed park in the country, the park is located in Haining, Zhejiang Province, and is 10,000 square meters.

Various activities aimed at children populate the park, all tied into the Angry Bird franchise. There is the so-called "Angry Birds Castle" along with a Parkour style park for children to explore. There is also a musical stadium that features concerts and other activities.

For those looking for a more traditional Angry Bird experience, there is also a gaming area where guests can play the various Angry Birds games on multiple platforms if. Of course, the park also comes with an Angry Birds store where they can purchase official franchise merchandise.

Reactions from fans seem to be positive. Parents have said on Chinese social media that the park is a fun place for younger children to play in, while noting that there is a lack of attractions for older children or adults to enjoy.

The Angry Birds theme park has been in the works by developer Rovio since 2011. After a soft launch during the month of September, the park officially opened on Oct. 1 on the Chinese holiday of National Day. Rovio is planning for more Angry Birds theme parks in China, which is one of the largest and fastest growing markets for the franchise.

Angry Birds continues to be one of the most popular games on mobile devices, as the most recent game in the series, Angry Birds Star Wars 2 continues to be near the top of the charts for both Apple and Android. Perhaps some day soon the United States will see its own Angry Birds theme park.
