The New York Rangers will look for their first win of the season when they visit the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

New York opened its season with a 4-1 loss against the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday; Marc Staal scored the club's lone goal in that contest. The team looked overwhelmed throughout and made a plethora of defensive mistakes that led to a rather easy night for Phoenix.

The debut did not go according to plan for new coach Alain Vigneault, but he is likely to be more relaxed knowing that Captain Ryan Callahan will be suiting up for New York on Monday. According to NHL.com, the Rangers captain will make his season debut after undergoing surgery this past summer.

"He missed time, even in the summer, because he had to rest and recover," Brian Boyle said. "But knowing [Callahan], he's going to come out and try to run through a wall. He looks great. He's been working his butt off."

Callahan is slated to skate on a line with Boyle and Tayler Pyatt.

Meanwhile, the Kings will look to bounce back from a 5-3 loss against the Winnipeg Jets. After a stellar performance in a 3-2 shootout win over Minnesota earlier in the week, goalie Jonathan Quick gave up four goals in 45 minutes against Winnipeg.

"I didn't feel like I was fighting it," Quick said, according to NHL.com. "They get three cheesy ones and the puck is rolling. I think if you ask the shooters they didn't know where it was going. There's three right there for you, and they get one underneath me. Obviously if you give up four goals, you've got to [get] better. We've got work to do."

Prediction: Los Angeles manages a 2-1 win in a goaltending duel.
