49-year-old American actress Sandra Bullock spoke about her role in "Gravity" where, under the direction of Mexican Alfonso Cuarón, she plays Dr. Ryan Stone and said that she prefers the emotions of Latinos to those of Americans.

According to information published by La Opinión, Sandra Bullock acknowledged that her career is in a great spot thanks to the premiere of Gravity, arriving at cinemas on Friday, October 4. At the presentation of the movie in a Beverly Hills hotel, the actress was interviewed by the media about her role, highlighting the emotional sensibility reflected in the film.

In one of the statements shared by La Opinión, Sandra Bullock confessed that she was close to rejecting the role, "When I met with Alfonso (Cuarón), I was convinced I was going to reject the movie. It was then that he shared his vision and what he wanted to do emotionally. We never spoke of the technical aspect, or the fiction. All of that was secondary. We simply spoke of emotions", she accepted thanks to the sensibility transmitted by the director, and she was completely enthralled by the story.

Bullock pointed out Alfonso and Jonás Cuarón's ability to create what they want in a movie, referring to their talent as "a gift from God" and added that both of them "are artists that appreciate art, they don't think about not being able to create. They're always grounded when they spiritually question their abilities as human beings (...) It's something that goes far beyond the usual. It's rare to see that in artists".

The actress highlighted the talent and emotions of Latinos, "Something that can be said about Latino culture is that it's not afraid of showing emotion. It's an emotional culture, in its music, its art. It's always present. (The United States) can be very repressed: no don't talk about this, don't show that... It's like German culture: yes we can be emotional, but let's keep it to ourselves. In Latino culture emotions flow (...) my brother-in-law is half Japanese, half Latino, two contradictory cultures, but he's passionate, emotional... I envy that, that lack of fear to show how you feel".

Finally, La Opinión points out that Sandra Bullock is taking her career in a new direction thanks to her role in Cuarón's movie, saying that was very interested in the opportunity the Mexican director gave her "no matter how difficult it was, it left me with a life lesson, an experience that goes beyond the movie itself".
