It looks like the rumored Google-branded LG Nexus 5 will be sporting a serious camera. If some leaked log files are accurate, then the Nexus 5 could be equipped with a camera sensor capable of an exciting new technology called MEMS.

MEMS, or a microelectromechanical system, is a type of camera module that essentially decides to shoot first and focus later. The technology means the camera will take multiple shots of the same image and combine them for the best overall quality. It also means users will get some very fast auto-focus times.

A more detailed explanation of MEMS can be found over at Phone Arena.

It's important to note that this is all speculation. The sensor could also be indicative of another camera module without MEMS. Still, Google has hinted at wanting the Nexus series to take amazing photos and we'll simply have to wait until Google confirms the device to know what's in it.

Google is rumored to reveal the Nexus 5 sometime in mid-October alongside Android 4.4 KitKat, with a lot of money being put on the date Oct. 14. After that, most expect the phone to be released by the end of October, in time for the busy holiday shopping season.

The Nexus 5 should come with a 4.97-inch 1080p Full HD display pushing out 442 pixels per inch. The phone is rumored to house a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The Nexus 5 should also support wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE.
