Harvey Weinstein has put the finishing touches on his awards season films.

The Weinstein company announced that its Cannes acquisition "Philomena" would be released on Nov. 22 and would later expand on Nov. 27 to more than 500 screens. The announcement comes a day after the film released its trailer and after the TWC announced it was delaying the highly anticipated "Grace of Monaco."

"Philomena," which stars Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, has been garnering Oscar buzz after premiering at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. The movie won Best Screenplay at Venice and received universal praise for its mix of drama and comedy.

Dench also received praise for her performance and is predicted to receive her first nomination since 2006 when she got nominated for "Notes on a Scandal."

The movie was directed by Stephen Frears ("The Queen," "Dangerous Liaisons") and tells the story of a political journalist who picks up the story of a woman's search for her son, who was taken away from her decades ago. Both the woman and the journalist form an unlikely bond and begin to search for her son.

Along with the news TWC announced it was releasing "One Chance" directed by David Frankel on Dec. 27, replacing "Philomena's" original date.

The film is now set to open alongside another TWC film, "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

The Weinstein Company is known for their Oscar campaigns and success during awards season. Last year the company garnered more nominations than any other studio with "Silver Linings Playbook," Kon-Tiki," "The Master" and "Django Unchained." Previously the company won two Best Pictures in a row with "The Artist" and "The King's Speech." It has also been in charge of "A Single Man," "The Reader," "My Week with Marilyn" and "Blue Valentine."

This year's TWC slate also includes "Fruitvale Station," "Lee Daniel's The Butler," "The Grandmaster" and "August: Osage County."
