James Spader has revealed he's already preparing for his upcoming role as Ultron in "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron."

During an interview with The Inquirer, Spader revealed that he had spoken to director Joss Whedon with specific ideas about the character. "I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it. Just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans, and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I'm gonna fit in this Ultron character!" Spader told The Inquirer.

In an interview with The Independent he added, "I'm not a planner. I like to try something different, to just see what happens... I think it'll be a lot of fun and it's incredibly nostalgic for me. When I was a kid my best friend had trunks of comics and I didn't have any so I used to love going for sleepovers at his house. Also I have three sons and two of them have a great interest in comics so they're excited I'm playing the role."

A month ago, Spader was announced to play Ultron. Whedon commented that he already had a good idea of how Ultron would be developed in the film and that he was happy to have Spader on board. "I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers ..." said Whedon. "He's got a bee in his bonnet. He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy. He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who's a witch."

"Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" is currently in pre-production and will star Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlet Johannson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Samuel L. Jackson.

The movie will start shooting in 2014 and will be released in May 1, 2015.
