In modern time, filmmakers have taken more proactive steps toward promoting their films and connecting with fans. Bryan Singer has constantly presented updates on social networks for his upcoming "X-Men Days of Future Past" and now it seems that Michael Bay is following in his footsteps for the upcoming "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction."

Bay, popular for his action films, has been posting photos of the shoot online for months and his most recent image showcases the three main characters of the franchise.

"@mark_wahlberg @nicolaannepeltz @jackreynor on the set of #transformers4 hi-res: https://bayhem.com/1beWtCP  #michaelbay pic.twitter.com/zjwaPIcvSs," tweeted the helmer.

The picture showcases Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor in the middle of a vast desert. Wahlberg dominates the foreground of the image while the other two characters are in the background. According to previous reports, Peltz plays Tessa, the daughter of Wahlberg's Cade while Reynor plays her love interest Shane.

Bay has been posting pictures almost on a daily basis. He also recently posted a picture of himself behind the camera on a dolly track in the midst of what looks like an explosion.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the film's title would be "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" and that Dinobots would feature in the movie.

"I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about," producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said, according to IGN. "The world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including Chinese vehicles, so whether you are a car enthusiast or not, it will be a feast for the eyes."

The new film is expected to be released on June 27, 2014.
