People know that high heels can cause severe damages to the feet and spinal column, but still women just can't stop wearing them. They make us look tall, stylish and beautiful. However, we can recognize when maybe they become a little bit too extreme, like these ones fabricated by the shoemaker René van den Berg and designed by Leanie van der Vyver.

These high heels -named Scary Beautiful- were nominated for the Gerrit Rietveld design prize and in the van den Berg website a report of the jury members, Barbara Visser and Xander Karskens can be read. Part of it says: "One observes the design forcing the wearer to develop a new way of walking". This is because, as can you see, the heel is not in the back but in the front, forcing the knee to bent in order to walk.

How far would women go to look beautiful? If this were the trend, would you wear the shoes?
